The Sansevieria is a genus of about 70 species of flowering plants native to Africa, Madagascar, and southern Asia. Living in arid environments, the Sansevieria developed CAM photosynthesis allowing it to open its stomata at night and close it during the day to reduce loss of water.

Water: Thoroughly water and allow excess moisture to drain. A very drought tolerant plant, allw the soil to dry between waterings.
Light: Medium to bright indirect sunlight
Fertilizer: A very light feeder, apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at half strength if leaves start to pale.
